'Pressfit' Inserts

The 'Pressfit' range of inserts are designed to suit all types of thermoset materials where the inserts are pressed in cold. Different designs cater for all types of applications and materials...

Why use Pressfit Inserts?

  • Pressfit inserts are effortless press-in inserts.
  • Pressfit inserts are self-aligning.
  • Pressfit inserts limit the risk of sink marks, as the insert has diminutive bursting stress.
  • Pressfit inserts have a large degree of torque resistance.

Installing Pressfit Inserts...

  • When installing a Pressfit insert a hammer blow should never be used. Use alternatively a balanced compression press method.
  • Pressfit inserts are to be enabled to rotate during installation, in the direction of the knurl.
  • Pressfit inserts must be kept square due to the possibility of provoking slanting side loads.
  • Self-aligning assisted installation can be reduced if the recommended exceeds the maximum level, resulting in possible cracking due to the side loads.

Hole for a Pressfit Insert...

  • We strongly advise moulding Pressfit inserts, as opposed to drilling.
  • Recommended hole size shown on Pressfit insert dimensions, giving -0.00mm +0.10mm.
  • Advised diameter of the hole is where the insert reaches the bottom.
