Our Headed Type D Threaded Inserts for Wood — also known as Type D Insert Nuts or Screw-In Insert Nuts — are designed to provide strong, permanent threads in timber and wood-based sheet materials. Commonly used in knock-down furniture assemblies, these inserts are ideal for joinery, cabinetry, furniture manufacture, and general woodworking applications.

Made from high-quality zinc alloy and finished with a durable yellow passivation, these inserts offer excellent corrosion protection, wear resistance, and holding power. Their self-tapping external thread cuts cleanly into the base material, ensuring positive locking and strong resistance to pull-out caused by vibration, torsion, or tensile loads.

Installation is quick and simple — just screw the insert into the timber using the hex drive with standard hand or power tools.
